Fight Time
Fight Time chronicles the converging paths of Dingding and Red, two migrant workers who arrive in Shenzhen during the city’s punishing peak season for hard gigs in the red-light economy. Both are placed by different agencies into a shared arc of demanding assignments, a trajectory that nurtures their growing, intertwined feelings. Red is a mother to a child abandoned by her boyfriend, and Dingding’s father resolves to assume greater responsibility as the couple proceeds to legally register their marriage. Despite a life that is cruel and unforgiving, they cling to the dream of a family and fight with unwavering resolve, even taking up pole dancing to cover the expenses of their son. In this city, many people toil just as hard; the harshness of life threatens to grind them down, and it is this struggle that fuels their fight.
