Firelight
In 1838, lovely governess Elisabeth Laurier agrees to bear a child for an anonymous English landowner, who will in return pay her father's debts. At birth, she relinquishes the child as agreed. Seven years later, she is hired as the governess to a girl on a remote Sussex estate. The girl's father, Charles Godwin, turns out to be that anonymous landowner. Elisabeth must then become her own daughter Louisa's governess, unable to reveal the secret of her connection to the child.
