Fotbal
In 1965, the seasoned director Jaroslav Mach crafted a documentary film with staged sequences, addressing the pressing problems plaguing popular Czech sport. Behind the scenes of football, the playmakers scrutinize Slavoj's squad as it prepares for the decisive match. If Coach Ram fails to compel his players to perform convincingly, they face relegation to the second division. After a series of dramatic peripeteias, Slavoj takes the field so weakened that he is caught up in the dreaded failure. Fortunately, the club's fans will eventually vent their anger at the loss of 'their' team on an innocent referee. The film also includes critique of officials. In addition to actors Martin Růžek and Bohumil Šmída, Machov's film features real footballers from Dukla and period sports stars (e.g., František Plánička).
