Fushigi Yugi: The Mysterious Play

Miaka, a junior high school student in Tokyo, leads an ordinary life until a mysterious book discovered in the library whisks her and her friend Yui into the Universe of the Four Gods. Upon arrival, they are immediately assailed by would-be slavers and rescued by a dashing young man. While Miaka isn't looking, both Tamahome and Yui vanish. Unbeknownst to Miaka, Yui has been sucked back into the real world. Back in the library, she can only keep reading as Miaka journeys toward the city to find the mysterious young boy and rescue her friend. Yet the path before Miaka holds surprises neither girl anticipates—and now the only way back to her own world is to become the Priestess of Suzaku and save their world.
