Gates of Paradise

Heaven's daughter Annie is left orphaned and crippled. Taken to Farthinggale Manor by Tony Tatterton, she longs for her lost family, especially her half-brother Luke. Deprived of Luke's warmth, she flounders in the shadows of despair and becomes subject to the control of nurse Broadfield. When Annie uncovers a cottage concealed within Farthinggale's woods, the mystery of her past deepens.
