Season 1

When a girl named Harumi sneaks into school with her friends, she is shocked to discover that their faces have mysteriously disappeared. As she attempts to flee, Harumi nearly drowns in a pool, but is rescued by Kappaeru, a kappa who brings her to an underground base. There, she meets the ice princess Yukiko and the fiery mage Enma, who together make up the Yōkai Patrol, a team dispatched from hell to stop demons that surface above ground. After identifying the culprit as a face-eating demon, Harumi volunteers to draw it out so Enma and the others can strike. Although Harumi locates the monster, Enma’s laziness means her own face is stolen before they arrive. Enma then battles the demon and, while smashing it with his fiery hammer and showing no concern for the innocent faces, defeats it and restores every face to its proper owner.
