Gion Matsuri - the Rebirth!

To mark Kyoto's Gion Matsuri as it celebrated its 1150th anniversary in 2019, the festival was subsequently suspended for two years due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The live coverage of the Yoiyama evening on July 16 and the following day's Yamaboko parade is complemented by a set of special documentaries that illuminate the festival's history and the activities during the pandemic.
