At seventeen, girls are obsessed with looking good, dressing well, and chasing after the cutest boys. Or they are like Luka, a boxing ace who couldn't care less about her appearance or appeal to boys. After she breaks a classmate's nose, her parents send her to a boarding school to learn ladylike manners. There she is mistaken for Frankie, a boy who hasn't shown up, and she assumes his identity. With her boxing skill, she wins over her three roommates Chico, Toby, and Jo and forms a particularly close bond with Chico. Her blunt honesty and loyalty to her new friends soon land her in trouble with the headmistress and her nephew, the school bully.
