Gloria

A short film that chronicles a life-altering dilemma for a Mexican-American bride standing on the brink of traditional expectations. As Gloria readies to wed her fiancé Rodrigo, she is consumed by a secret, forbidden love for Emilia—a graceful, queer white woman who refuses to remain hidden in the shadows of heteronormativity. Through flashbacks to the night before the wedding, the film reveals the torrid passion and the friction between the two women. After an ultimatum from Emilia and a tense discovery by Gloria's sister Sophia, the reality of their secret shatters the veil of the wedding festivities. In the present, Gloria faces a stark ultimatum: if she proceeds with the wedding, Emilia will depart to pursue a life of authenticity and freedom, fleeing the concealment of their bond. As Rodrigo waits at the altar, unaware, Gloria is left with the ultimate, breathless choice—honor her cultural tradition, or risk everything to follow a path of true self-discovery.
