Godzilla 1985
Originally released in Japan in 1984 as The Return of Godzilla, this heavily re-edited entry was re-titled Godzilla 1985. It adds new footage of Raymond Burr and stands as the 16th Godzilla film, discarding all prior sequels and serving as a direct sequel to the 1956 Godzilla King of the Monsters, which also featured Burr edited into 1954's Godzilla. The film restores the darker tone of the original as we witness the nuclear destruction wrought by the giant lizard terrorizing Japan.
