Great Expectations

Orphan Pip learns from his lawyer, Mr. Jaggers, that a mysterious benefactor intends to raise him to the station of a gentleman. Reunited with his childhood patron, Miss Havisham, and with his first love, the beautiful yet emotionally cold Estella, he discovers that the elderly spinster has slipped into madness after being left at the altar as a young woman, and has transformed her ward into a warped, unfeeling heartbreaker.
