Ambitious New Yorker Zoe Hart has her career path laid out: after finishing at the top of her medical school class, she intends to follow in her father's footsteps as a cardio-thoracic surgeon. When those ambitions crumble, she relocates to Bluebell, Alabama to practice at a small clinic.
