Across the vast expanse of the Internet lies a message board known as Jigoku Tsushin (Hell Message), accessible only at the stroke of midnight. When grudges are posted, Hell Girl appears and drags the nemesis into the inferno. While it is whispered as an urban legend by children, it is more than a rumor. Her name is Ai Emma. Usually a quiet girl, she becomes Hell Girl when she empathizes with a grudge. Although not stated in the rumor, a pact with her is required. To send the target to Hell, the client's soul will be fated to descend there after death. Clients who exact revenge with Hell Girl's aid must bear an engraved cross mark on their chests for the rest of their lives.
