In 8th-century Scandinavia, the Danish kingdoms face the menace of Charlemagne, King of the Franks. To bolster their position, Sigfred, ruler of the Danes, arranges for his eldest son to wed the daughter of a wealthy Norwegian family. But when his other son falls in love with the same woman, their bond comes under the ultimate test. It is up to Godfred, the youngest of Sigfred's sons, to unite a fractured family and defend their Viking way of life... if he can.
