Igby Goes Down
Igby Slocumb, a rebellious and sardonic 17-year-old, battles the suffocating orbit of the old-money privilege into which he was born. With a schizophrenic father, a self-absorbed, emotionally distant mother, and a shark-like young Republican big brother, Igby becomes convinced that a better life must exist beyond it—and he resolves to find it.
