I’m Glad to Be Alive

Professional boxer Sota Kusunoki, renowned for his headlong, relentless fighting style, sees years of combat take their toll and is forced to retire by a doctor's stoppage. He seizes the opportunity of retirement to marry his girlfriend Sachiko and begin a new life, yet he finds himself utterly useless in society and acutely aware of the harsh reality of his situation. One day, a mysterious man who claims to be a fan of Sota receives an offer to fight in an underground martial arts tournament, where he will compete for a large prize and where his desires will flourish. The prospect of fighting again rekindles a long-dormant thrill, and his adrenaline surges to fill the emptiness inside.
