Movie Background

Into the Storm

As a new day dawns over Silverton, its residents expect nothing more than an ordinary morning. But Mother Nature has other plans. In mere hours, an unprecedented onslaught of powerful tornadoes rips through Silverton. Storm trackers forecast that the worst is yet to come, as terrified residents seek shelter and professional storm-chasers race toward the danger, hoping to study the phenomenon up close and secure a once-in-a-lifetime shot.

Another version of the movie 'Twister'. Not because both the movies are about tornadoes, but takes place in a similar fashion where a group of twister/storm analyzers/chasers goes after their thing only to come out in a messed-up state. Forget the 'Twister', lets talk about this film. It had better effects, but that did not give the visuals like the natural occurrence, mostly they over-used it. I can call it a display for commercial purpose than reality, that's what Hollywood is famous for, isn't it? The fun part was, the tornado(es) behaved like it had a soul and conscious like any living organism. 'Final Destination 5' was one of the best digital 3D movie at that time, when it comes to the awesome pop-ups and very disappointed with this film which was crafted by the same director. The plus point was, it mildly entertains with a merely good pace of narration. Definitely it is not a category-A movie, if you want, you can say it because of the actors. The real reason is the performances from the cast was not noticeable. If one, one person had a strong hold up on his role the movie might had clinched its success. Due to CGI rule, actors are not getting a better scope for their characters. That's very sad, but true. You can watch it for entertainment or timepass, but not expecting seriously. 5.5/10

This is another one of those films that reminds mankind that if nature were really to take against us all, it could eridcate us without too much difficulty. This natural disaster movie is a variation on the "Twister" theme as the sleepy Oklahoma town of "Silverton" prepares for graduation day without the faintest clue that the valedictory speechifying is about to be cut short. Meantime, some storm chasers are honing in on the radar clues that suggest that this could well be a super-storm. "Gary" (Richard Armitage) is the teacher at the school charged with filming events, and recruiting his two sons "Trey" (Nathan Kress) and "Donnie" (Max Deacon) they set off for what they expect to be a routine day of gushing and hat-tossing. Whilst the latter lad sneaks off to a grotty, rundown, warehouse to be with his would-be girlfriend "Kaitlyn" (Alycia debham Carey), the others are about to photograph the whole event when they encounter "Pete" (Matt Walsh) and his tank-like "Titus" - and that's when things liven up; the town gets trashed and they have to find a way to rescue the loved-up couple from some wreckage before finding some safety from winds that are reducing the place to rubble. The story is all old hat and the acting is pretty terrible, but I did quite like some of the blustery effects and I wanted my own "Titus" as they all race around in a soup of fairly dated greenscreen. Instantly forgettable stuff, but it passes the time.
