Iron Chef

Iron Chef is a Japanese television cooking competition produced by Fuji Television. Debuting on October 10, 1993, the series presents a stylized duel in which guest chefs challenge one of the show’s resident Iron Chefs in a timed cook-off centered around a specific theme ingredient. The original run concluded on September 24, 1999, though occasional specials were produced through 2002. The program totaled 309 episodes. Repeats are regularly shown in the United States on Cooking Channel and in Australia on the Special Broadcasting Service. Fuji TV will air a new version of the show, titled Iron Chef, beginning on October 26, 2012.
