It's Murder. But Is It Art?
It's Murder. But Is It Art? is a 1976 six-part comedy-thriller serial written by David Pursall and Jack Seddon for BBC One. The cast includes Arthur Lowe, John Gower, Dudley Foster, Arthur Howard, and Anthony Sagar. An eccentric artist-turned-detective named Phineas Drake investigates when the beautiful blonde Tina Kent is found murdered in the drawing-room of Brigadier Austin Binghop. Inspector Hook is convinced Binghop is the culprit and places him under arrest. However, Mr. Drake believes otherwise and places himself in considerable personal jeopardy as the trail leads him to the Chelsea socialite Mrs MacPherson. Apart from a few low-quality off-air monochrome trailers from the time, the entire series is believed to be lost.
