The King Without a Heart is a fairy tale about a contented king who has a young daughter and a beloved wife. After the sudden death of his wife, the king sinks into such grief that he longs to have his heart removed from his chest. The kingdom is transformed into an effective society based on reason, where there is no longer a place for emotions. As she grows up, the princess endeavors to make her father see the importance of play and emotions.
