Disney Legend Sterling Holloway provides the narration for this timeless animated short. A mix-up by Mr. Stork leaves a lion cub in the care of a gentle flock of sheep. Loved by his mother, yet teased by the lambs, Lambert grows into a massive lion while remaining shy and gentle like the ewe who raised him. When the stork takes a breather from delivering it’s hefty parcel, it gets seen off by a possessive ewe who decides to keep the occupant of the bundle and raise it as her own. The other sheep like to tease the newborn because, well even they can see it’s not a sheep. They don’t know what it is, but we know it's a lion cub - and a fairly placid one at that. Then enter a peckish wolf that sees the flock as easy pickings. What chance the now fully grown lion can grow a pair of claws and learn to roar? It’s good fun this animation, with a little bit of an understated moral to it and quite a bit of mischief thrown in too as it moves along nicely for eight minutes with a solid story and jaunty score underpinning the characters.
