Liminality

Zari and Aina are a young couple, orbiting one another yet unable to truly connect. We meet them each in their element: Zari finishing a painting for a gallery opening, and Aina coding her own video game designed to boost self-awareness. When Aina makes an effort to bridge the gap and Zari shuts her out again, Aina pushes her girlfriend into the game. Inside, Zari encounters alternate versions of herself and the pull of her ego's desires. She must decide what she is willing to relinquish to advance to the next level. When the game malfunctions, Aina pulls her back into reality, and the two finally confront each other.
