Living, Dying, Father, etc.
Twenty years ago Tokiko's mother died, and her father Tetsuya, now in his seventies, remains a free-spirited and endearing presence. Tokiko is in her mid-forties and single, a woman of strong resolve. Their relationship has long been strained, nearly coming to an end at one point; today they meet only occasionally, sharing meals and conversations. When Tokiko decides to publish an essay about her father, she sits down with Tetsuya to gather material, hearing a range of stories that is not limited to pleasant memories.
