Love in the Time of Cholera
Set in Colombia in the immediate aftermath of the Great War, an elderly man falls from a ladder and, in his dying moments, proclaims profound love for his wife. After the funeral, a man visits the widow, and she angrily dismisses him. The narrative then flashes back more than fifty years to the day Florentino Ariza, a telegraph boy, falls in love with Fermina Daza, the daughter of a mule trader.
