Mardock Scramble: The Second Combustion

Saved by Doctor Easter from a lethal assault on their headquarters led by Dimsdale Boiled, Rune Balot seeks refuge in "Paradise," a state-of-the-art laboratory where the Scramble 09 protocol was born. While the gravely injured Oeufcoque regenerates in a healing vat, Rune wrestles with inner truths that might grant her traumatized psyche some measure of peace. Yet as the quest for clues to Shell's hidden memories continues, Boiled retrieves them once more, and Rune and the Doctor resolve to turn the war back on the enemy.
