Nora has been pursuing her dream of becoming an aspiring comedy writer in New York City, but a teaching job—one she’s just quit or been fired from—has taken center stage, and the future remains tangled. Before she can chart her next move, Nora finds herself back in her Miami– Kendall hometown, dressed as a dancing grape and performing at children’s birthday parties alongside her Abuela and Tio. This particular party becomes Nora’s ultimate anxiety nightmare, with her high school nemeses, crushes, and the most memorable classmates all in attendance, watching her every move. Yet perhaps she’s not failing at all; maybe she’s simply growing, shedding one version of herself to become a better, more authentic next chapter. And perhaps those Octo/Nonagenarians she’s sharing the stage with have something valuable to teach her after all.
