Naked Lunch
Blank-faced bug killer Bill Lee and his dead-eyed wife, Joan, drift through life, getting high on Bill's pest poisons while lounging with Beat-poet pals. After a fateful encounter with the devilish Dr. Benway, Bill takes a drug made from a centipede. Upon indulging, he inadvertently kills Joan, and then begins taking orders from his typewriter-turned-cockroach. He ends up in a constantly mutating Mediterranean city and discovers that his hip friends have published his work—work he does not remember writing.
