Setsu and Chisato have been close since high school. One day Setsu arrives at the dining bar where Chisato works, carrying the weight of an enticing yet unsettled offer: a temporary posting from an Italian workshop that unsettles her as a shoe designer. The wife of Setsu’s lover, Hirai Tamotsu, has discovered their affair, yet Hirai insists they will stay together. Setsu’s first marriage failed due to her pursuit of perfection, and she seems to have found solace in her devil-may-care relationship with Hirai. Although Chisato listens with sympathy, she is troubled by her own husband’s infidelity. Mitsuru, Chisato’s husband, is a popular photographer who has long indulged in affairs, but her intuition suggests this time the betrayal may be serious. She is haunted by hallucinations that the family will be hijacked in her absence. Meanwhile, Setsu is hit with an unexpected incident…
