This film began life on a Paris stage. It centers on the one-day adventures of Bertrand Barnier, portrayed by the genius of French cinema, Louis de Funes. On that same morning he learns his daughter is pregnant, an employee has stolen a substantial sum from his company, his maid is poised to resign to marry a wealthy neighbor, and his bodybuilder is eager to marry his daughter. The seemingly intricate storyline unfolds as a torrent of farce and features some of the most uproarious mime scenes in French cinema.
