Damian, a Taipei restaurateur who longs to build a family, welcomes his son Kai Kai through surrogacy with his partner, Jie Li. However, as Kai Kai begins kindergarten and starts asking questions about his family, the couple must find a way to explain the idea of a “mother” within a household headed by two fathers.
