Phillip Filmore, a naive teenage boy, is left in the care of Nicole Mallow, a housekeeper, while his father is away for the summer on a business trip. Lester Lewis, an unscrupulous chauffeur, exploits the arrangement and coerces Nicole into a blackmail plot to drain Phillip's trust fund by faking her own death.
