Madoka Kaname, a typical middle school student, and her close friend Sayaka Miki are offered the opportunity to have any wish fulfilled by the enigmatic Kyubey, transforming into magical girls who battle witches. However, fellow magical girl Homura Akemi appears determined to prevent Madoka from becoming a magical girl at any cost.
