Quark

Quark is an American science fiction situation comedy that aired on NBC, starring Richard Benjamin. The pilot premiered on May 7, 1977, with the series launching as a midseason replacement in February 1978, before its cancellation in April 1978. Created by Buck Henry, co-creator of Get Smart. The series unfolds aboard a United Galaxy Sanitation Patrol Cruiser, an interstellar garbage scow operating from United Galaxies Space Station Perma One, in the year 2226. Adam Quark leads the crew as they collect "space baggies" and clean up debris across space. During its brief run, Quark lampooned such sci-fi touchstones as Star Wars, 2001: A Space Odyssey, and Flash Gordon, and three episodes served as direct satires of Star Trek. The program earned an Emmy nomination for costume designer Grady Hunt's work on All the Emperor's Quasi-Norms, Part 2. The complete series was released on DVD on October 14, 2008.
