Ring Neck

David longs for his ring-necked dove, his cherished pet and sole solace. To honor the bond he shared with the bird, he insists on mixing its ashes into tattoo ink for a memorial design. The empty cage in his apartment lingers as he moves through his days working as a music engineer. The tattoo becomes infected. Weeks pass as he withdraws from the comfort of his girlfriend, and his grief begins to dominate his body in the most unusual way.
