Robinson Crusoe
Robinson Crusoe escapes Britain aboard a ship after killing his friend in a bid for Mary's affection. A violent sea tempest sinks his vessel, leaving him marooned alone on an uncharted island. Left to fend for himself, Crusoe begins a precarious struggle for survival on the island, until he meets Friday, a tribesman whom he saves from sacrificial rites. At first, Crusoe is elated to have a companion at last, but he must defend himself against the tribe that uses the island to sacrifice tribesmen to their gods. Over time, their relationship evolves from a master–slave dynamic to a mutually respectful friendship, despite their cultural and religious differences.
