Róza, strážné strašidlo
Just in time, Róza Riedlová returns from the grave to benevolently intervene in the life of timid Jana, a young woman haunted by self-doubt. If Róza, that charming elder figure, is indeed a ghost, she is certainly among the kindest beings in our world; otherwise she would not be able to bring such wonderful order to human relationships, not only in Jana’s family and at school, but wherever she appears. This appealing comedy has earned awards both domestically and internationally. In 1995, a Montevideo jury named it the best film for children, and in 1994 it won first prize in the children’s film category at the Ota Hofman Festival in Ostrov, with Iva Janžurová receiving the award for the most likable adult actor for her portrayal of Róza.
