Santa Evita
After Eva Perón’s death in 1952, her remains were held in limbo for three years while a mausoleum—the resting place that would never be built—was awaited. In 1955, Argentina’s military seized control and hid Perón’s body from public view, fearing it could unite the country against them. Yet they never imagined that, in death, she would become more dangerous than she was in life.
