Sara enrolls at Juilliard in New York to pursue her own dream and her mother’s ambition of becoming the school’s prima ballerina. There, she forms a friendship with her roommates, Zoe and Miles, who teach hip-hop classes. She studies ballet under the strict and renowned Monique Delacroix, whom she deeply admires; Monique demands total dedication, discipline, and hard work from her students. When Miles, a composer, asks Sara to help him create music for a dance choreography, her interest in hip-hop is awakened, and she also falls in love with Miles. Later, when she is chosen to perform Giselle at an important event, she finds herself torn between the precision of ballet and the creative opportunity offered by Miles.
