Scotland Yard

Fleeing the scene of a bank robbery, a criminal has a fateful encounter with a banker and his wife, and he takes a locket bearing both their pictures as a remembrance of the wife's stunning beauty. To avoid prosecution, he enlists in World War I, where combat disfigures his face, and plastic surgeons inadvertently bestow upon him the banker's appearance. With the banker conveniently MIA, the criminal gains the opportunity to orchestrate a bank heist from within and to draw closer to the banker's wife.
