Sense of Wonder - One Small Step

In an era unburdened by cell phones, YouTube, video games, and the ceaseless cadence of minute-to-minute planning, three friends roam the wilds of childhood along their beloved Texas river. The year feels both 1955 and 1979 at once—a wondrous convergence where these young explorers are still decades away from knowing what a text message is or what YouTube does. If you asked them about streaming, they'd suppose it referred to a tube and the nearby creek. With the Texas wilderness as their home, they spend every waking hour outdoors, thinking for themselves, exploring, solving their own problems, creating, and becoming the people they are meant to become. Sense of Wonder is a three-part coming-of-age short film series.
