Sharpe
Sharpe is a British television drama series featuring Sean Bean as Richard Sharpe, a fictional British soldier during the Napoleonic Wars. The series is the cornerstone of Bernard Cornwell’s Sharpe novels, with the majority of episodes adapting his books, though not all. It was produced for ITV by Celtic Films and Picture Palace Films, and filming took place mainly in Turkey and the Crimea, with additional shoots in England, Spain, and Portugal. The program originally aired from 1993 to 1997, and in 2004 ITV announced plans to produce new Sharpe adventures in a co production with BBC America, with Bean continuing in the lead and loosely centered on Sharpe’s time in India. Sharpe's Challenge is a two part adventure; Part One premiered on ITV on 23 April 2006, with Part Two following the next night. The two‑part episode offered more gore than earlier installments and was broadcast by BBC America in September 2006.
