Short Time
After a misdiagnosis leaves Detective Burt Simpson believing he has only weeks to live, he gains a renewed appreciation for his life and the people closest to him. He discovers, however, that for his wife Carolyn and son Dougie to collect any insurance money, he must be killed in the line of duty. This realization propels him to become the force's most reckless officer, volunteering for perilous assignments despite the protests of his by-the-book partner.
