An aspiring song-plugger named Susan Kent sets her sights on securing a second song from the rising songwriter Johnny Crane after his debut hit climbs the charts. In pursuing this objective, she falls in love with Johnny, lands in jail, but she ultimately acquires the song, the job, and Johnny.
