Stereotype
Marjetka has spent ten years with Maks, a painter and uncompromising conceptual artist. At first, he appears different—witty, charming, talented, and promising—so he hires Marjetka to help her achieve fame and success. Fame and money, he implies, do not emerge from nowhere. The film introduces a poet named Srecko, Maks's mother who is an opera singer, and Vilma, Marjetka's friend. Collectively, the artists themselves—or as Maks describes them, Slovenian country artists. A few days after her thirtieth birthday, filled with doubts about this lifestyle she does not love, Marjetka realizes that Maks is not only an incurable bohemian but also a slacker and sarcastic. She resolves to change her life, a move that is radically different. Rather than leaving it to him.
