Sunshine Girls

Sunshine Girls follows Elaine, a reserved woman approaching her thirtieth birthday who must choose between motherhood and a groundbreaking, medically induced photosynthesis. After years of environmental ruin, the world confronts a perilous oxygen shortage. Science offers a solution: a minimally invasive medical procedure that allows women's reproductive systems to host photosynthesis and cellular respiration, ultimately enabling them to give birth to air. Among a ragtag cohort of oxygen-producing misfits called the Sunshine Girls, Elaine begins to grow into the woman she has long aspired to become—yet not everything is as bright and sunny as it seems.
