Takeshi's Castle

Takeshi's Castle is a Japanese game show broadcast from 1986 to 1990 on the Tokyo Broadcasting System (TBS). It features Japanese actor Takeshi Kitano portraying a count who owns a castle and designs a sequence of punishing challenges for contestants determined to reach him. Contestants throw themselves into formidable physical trials as they attempt to storm Takeshi's Castle and claim the grand prize of one million yen. The program has attained cult status worldwide. A live revival special was broadcast on April 2, 2005, to celebrate TBS's 50th anniversary.
