Coin Laundry follows Hashimoto Manabu, a temporarily laid-off worker scraping by on part-time gigs. After finishing a wash at a coin-operated laundry, he goes to dry his clothes, only for the dryer to stubbornly refuse to start. In another tale, Tatemoto Masako, an ordinary employee in Shinwa Stationery’s General Affairs Department, harbors a troubling talent: the power to manipulate people with the force of her words. Imaginary Friend centers on Harada Saki, a university student majoring in clinical psychology, who learns from a lecture that imaginary friends are creations of the imagination and are said to be most common among only children or the eldest child. Update Kazoku follows three generations of the Kurosaki family living under one roof, a household long deprived of happiness, where the breakfast scene has transformed into something savage.
