The Birth of Korea

Since Korea’s liberation in 1945, the North has become a communist dictatorship that suppresses freedom and violates human rights, while the South has charted a path of economic prosperity and advancing democracy grounded in liberty. How did two nations sharing language, history, and blood diverge into such polar extremes? This work spotlights the sacrifices and struggles of President Syngman Rhee and the first generation of founders who labored to create and safeguard the Republic of Korea over the past 70 years of history.
