The Book of Delights

The film transposes Clarice Lispector's novel Uma Aprendizagem ou O Livro dos Prazeres to the present day. It follows Lóri, a solitary, melancholic woman who splits her time between her duties as a schoolteacher and relationships that are quick and superficial. By chance she meets Ulisses, an acclaimed philosophy professor who is self-centered and provocative. Although he knows nothing about women, Lóri learns with him how to love and how to face her own loneliness.
