The Cuckoo
September 1944, just days before Finland exits the Second World War. A Finnish sniper-kamikadze, Veikko, tethered to a rock, compounds his chains and manages to break free. Ivan, a captain of the Soviet Army, is arrested by the Front Secret Police 'Smersh' and achieves a narrow escape. They are soldiers of two enemy armies. A Lapp woman Anni offers shelter to both of them at her farm. For Anni they are not enemies, but simply men.
